Iya Villania Covers Health Today Philippines Magazine February 2012 Issue
Fit and healthy Kapamilya host Iya Villania covers Health Today Magazine February 2012 issue
Although she has basically been on cam everyday throughout her nine-year showbiz career, Iya Villania has yet to be the subject of any gossip or intrigues. The 25-year-old is a recognizable face on local television, with regular hosting duties on shows like Umagang Kay Ganda, Us Girls, ASAP Rocks and I Dare You. But this celebrity still makes sure to keep some parts of her life away from the public eye.
At 16, the pretty Fil-Aussie beauty originally moved to the country to become a singer. But fate had other plans for her. “I came here to try it out talaga in showbiz. I actually came here to be a performer. That’s what I wanted in life, pero hindi yun ’yung ginusto ni Lord para sa akin (laughs). My first [jobs] were ads for a telecom and I also did something for a soda drink. He made me a dancer, an actress, a host, everything but what I actually wanted to do,” she admits.
In between jobs, Iya finished her studies on time and graduated with a Psychology degree from De La Salle University. “School was something I promised my parents and myself. I wanted to secure that first talaga. Kasi sayang lang ’yung nasimulan ko eh. Kaya talagang napilitan akong pagsabayin kahit mahirap,” she says. After landing her first regular gig as the host of Game Channel in 2003, Iya says it didn’t take her long to get settled in Manila. “I was never really scared because I look[ed] forward to new experiences,” she says.
Read the full article on how Iya Villania applies the discipline and energy of an active lifestyle, developed in her youth, to succeed in showbiz here by Rhea Manila Santos.

MANILA, Philippines – ABS-CBN’s noontime show “Happy Yipee Yehey” (HYY) ended happily on Saturday with 16-year-old Koreen Medina of Quezon City winning the much-awaited “My Girl” grand finals.
Medina not only got the top plum, but also won most of the competition’s special awards. As the “My Girl” grand winner, she won a P1-million cash prize and a Star Magic contract. She also took home a brand new car and a diamond ring worth P100,000 for being the Texter’s Choice, P50,000 cash prize for the Best Swimsuit award and another P50,000 for Best in Costume.
Medina cried when her named was called as the grand winner, as it was her first time to join a beauty pageant. She said she frequents singing contests but not pageants and that she didn’t expect the victory.
“With the opportunity I got, I’ll definitely work hard and do my best to nurture it. Singing is my first love, so I’d like to hone it more,” she said.
Medina won over the pageant’s judges Joey Marquez, Richard Gomez, Lara Quigaman, Jonas Gaffud and Dra. Vicky Belo when she said in the question and answer portion that if ever she’s a guardian angel, she’ll look after her grandma whom she loves so much.
The other winners were: Xzania Victa, who was named first runner-up and best in long gown; CJ Bender, second Runner-up; best in talent Ganiel Krishnan, third runner-up; and Alyssa Encarnation, fourth runner-up.
Performances also jazzed up the grand finals. Martin Nievera and Randy Santiago serenaded the candidates, while Toni Gonzaga and Pokwang had production numbers.
At the end of the show, HYY hosts, together with the members of the production team, gave their heartwarming messages to viewers.
“HYY’s farewell may have saddened us, but we accepted and embraced the changes. Let us support ABS-CBN’s noontime block that continues to spread happiness and hope to every Filipino family,” John Prats said.
Before the show finally bid goodbye, Santiago, John Estrada and Rico J. Puno, together with the other hosts and the rest of the production staff, tearfully sang “Matapos Man Ang Kailanman." The audience at the AFP Theater were touched as the hosts waved goodbye to everyone.

On the screen and off, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera make a handsome pair, seemingly so compatible that their fans (or maybe even their non-fans) wish that they would live happily ever after not just in reel but for real.
They are inseparable. But they vehemently deny that they plan to end up “Mr. & Mrs.” this year, or in the very near future, never mind if unreliable managhuhula predicted otherwise.
But who knows? Dingdong and Marian might end up at the altar — in their latest small-screen team-up My Beloved which premieres on Feb. 13, eve of Valentine’s Day, on GMA. It’s the same soap that created a gigantic traffic jam several days ago during a “fake” accident where a big bus jumped off a skyway (or a bridge) at the intersection of Buendia and Roxas Boulevard.
Directed by Dominic Zapata, the all-star-cast includes Carl Guevarra, Jennica Garcia, Alden Richards, Louise delos Reyes, Mikael Daez, Katrina Halili, Saab Magalona and Ynna Asistio.
To make sure that Dingdong and Marian really match, Conversations asked them to complete some questions, separately of course (so there wasn’t any, uhm, comparing notes). -Read full Conversation with Ricky Lo(The Philippine Star) here.

MANILA, Philippines — For former ABS-CBN actress Sandara Park, now known as Dara of the popular Korean girl group 2NE1, it is more fun in the Philippines.
Dara, along with group-mates – CL, Bom and Minzy – arrived in the country Feb. 1 for a brief vacation, Push.com.ph. reported.
Through the online picture journal me2day, the singer posted on her page, Feb. 1, a photo of herself riding a motorcycle (a red bike like that of an arcade game) and calls herself “Rider Dara.”
“Hey! Get on! Rider Dara, enjoying a good time in Manila with the members! Getting to Manila from Seoul takes about 3 hours; although it isn’t too far, it’s a place I miss and the distance is too far to come visit often. The girls are taking lots of pictures for me… I may reveal them soon,” Dara wrote.
2NE1 performed before Filipino fans a year ago. Although pure Korean, the former “Star Circle Quest” finalist and “Pambansang Krung-Krung” considers the Philippines her second home.
Posts from Twitter revealed that the Korean girls, known for their hits “Fire,” “Lollipop,” “I Don’t Care” among others, are in Legaspi, Albay.
After their vacation in the Philippines, Dara and the gang head for Japan for promotional activities, added the same Push.com.ph report.

Situated in Bgy. Tulo, Taal, Batangas, Mother Lily spent an entire year overseeing the construction of her dream resort, the latest “baby” in her real-estate business.
Vast, modern and perfect for families, the resort houses family villas, a condotel, two swimming pools, a main function hall, videoke/music room, massage room, billiards and kiddie playground.
