Arellano Lady Chiefs shuts down LPU Lady Pirates

Arellano University outlasted guest team Lyceum of the Philippines in four sets, 25-13, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20, to stay in the hunt for one of the two remaining berths in the Final Four yesterday in the 87th National Collegiate Athletics Association women’s volleyball tournament at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Adriatico St., Manila.
The win improved the Lady Chiefs’ mark to 5-3, while the Lady Pirates dropped to 4-4 to officially bow out of contention for a semis berth.
The Lady Chiefs, though, face a difficulat task ahead as they need to get past the unbeaten UPHSD and early semifinalists Lady Altas (8-0) on Friday, the last day of the elimination round.
